Common questions

What owners ask before getting in touch

Does it cost me anything?

Nothing. No fee, retainer or commission owed to me at any stage. Your only costs would be your own advisor fees if we reach a deal.

Will anyone find out during the process?

No. Confidentiality agreement signed before any financials are shared. Your staff, customers and suppliers hear nothing during the process, even if a deal does not go ahead. A completed sale is announced on your terms and your timetable.

I am not ready to sell yet.

That is the best time to talk. Owners who plan two or three years ahead sell for more. Have one conversation, take away an honest view, no obligation to act on it.

Will you keep my staff?

Yes. The staff are most of what is being bought. They hold the customer relationships and the knowledge. Replacing them would destroy the value.

What is my business likely to be worth?

We pay a fair price based on sustainable profit, not turnover, and we will tell you the basis of our number. We are not a trade buyer paying a strategic premium, and we will not waste your time pretending to be one. We would rather be honest in week one than renegotiate in week ten. Tell us about your business and we will come back with an honest first view, usually within two working days.

How long does it take?

Three to six months from first conversation to completion. An indicative view on value within two weeks of seeing accounts.
